Trash and Recycling

Bins are located next to the side wall beside the Guesthouse closest to the street.

Trash is picked up every monday, we have premium service, so don’t worry about rolling the bins to the street! Just make sure the lid is closed and leave them in the enclosure.

Do not worry about sorting recycling.  The trash company sorts onsite.

Powered Panoramic Door

Important: Always USE wall controller next to door. Never manually pull or push on doors. This can result in motor breakage.

Wall controller has an “OPEN” and “CLOSE” button. You can also stop it at anytime to control opening width.

Each room is equipped with its own ductless heating and cooling system.

  1. Set mode of operation – use “HEAT” or “COOL” setting – Sun or Snowflake symbol
  2. Set the fan speed – use the “AUTO” setting for optimal results
  3. Set the temperature
  4. Avoid adjusting the temperature setting – System is designed to adjust to changing conditions automatically and efficiently.  Once you find a comfortable temperature setting, avoid excessively changing the setting.

Wild Animals and Insects and Pest Control

You may encounter Javelinas, deers, squirrels, and birds on the property, most especially at night. Please do not feed any type of animal. It is very important to keep the gates closed and trash picked up.

Summertime in Arizona sees some of the hottest temperatures in the United States. After the dry heat comes the monsoon rain (July-Sep), and rain brings mosquitoes and other flying insects (ants, moths). Make sure screens on windows and doors are intact and closed. If you’re bothered while doing outdoor recreation, apply insect repellent.

We do have monthly pest control services.  Please reach out with any questions or concerns.

BBQ Grill

BBQ grill is hooked up to natural gas. Grease trays are located inside BBQ drawers, always make sure they are not overflowing.

House Tidbits

Electrical Shut-off Breaker Panel

Main Electrical panel is located in the garage on the wall.

Water & Septic

You are staying in a house with a sensitive septic system. This means that nothing but water, thin toilet paper, and waste belong down the toilet or any drains. Anything else, including wet wipes, will not decompose and could possibly clog our pipes and septic, which could cause serious damage to the entire system. A grinder pump is used to lift sewage to the street. If the grinder pump is stuck and has failed an outside alarm will sound with Red light (behind BBQ area). Immediately inform the host and limit water use. In this emergency case water could back up.

Safe Travels,

Swim Spa and Hot Tub

Hot Tub is serviced weekly by Vortex Pools (usually Wednesdays). Service rep does not have a specific time of arrival for maintenance. Always close and lock the hot tub when not in use.  They are heated by electricity and will ONLY heat up when the cover is on.

Spa/Hot-tub Cover Instructions:

Always use 2 people to open cover.  Lift and fold the cover in half, then lift it upwards and push back. Always cover spa when not in use.

Tip: 2 Persons recommended.

Gas Fire Pit:

Our fire pits are manually lit using a long metal key which is inserted into a hole in the side of the stone firepit. The key engages with a ball valve inside the fire pit to turn the gas on and off.

Lighting is a simple matter of applying a flame to the center of the burner using a standard barbecue lighter or long match, then turning the key to the ‘on’ position (you’ll hear the gas come out). We prefer the simplicity of a manual valve, which ensures that there is very little to go wrong with the fire pit and that it will function reliably for years to come. Always turn off when not supervised.

IMPORTANT: Powered Panoramic Door

Caution: Always use the wall controller located next to the door.

Never manually push or pull the doors, as this may damage the motor.

The wall controller features “OPEN” and “CLOSE” buttons, allowing you to control the door’s movement. You can stop it at any time to adjust the opening width.
